LM Jogbäck to step down; Karin Ahl appointed as Interim CEO

Stockholm, 8 May 2023 - Netnod today announced that LM Jogbäck will step down as Netnod CEO effective 8 May 2023. The Board has appointed Karin Ahl, previously Head of Netnod Time and Frequency.

“I joined Netnod as CEO in 2016 and am incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the last seven years,” said LM Jogbäck. “I will give Karin and the Management Team my full support as Netnod continues to work to ensure a secure and robust Internet for the Nordics and beyond.”

Under LM Jogbäck’s leadership, Netnod developed a range of new platforms and services for its interconnection, DNS and Time products. The organisation was strengthened with important additions to the Management Team and was celebrated for its significant contributions to  technical standards, policy development and critical infrastructure at the core of the Internet. This included Netnod’s leading role in providing Sweden with the most secure and advanced time distribution service in the world.

“I would like to express my appreciation for the great work LM has done at Netnod,” said Dennis Davidsson, Chair of the Netnod Board. “As we move forward, Karin’s wealth of technical and managerial experience will be a great asset to the organisation. I look forward to working together with Karin in her new role.”

Karin Ahl’s previous role at Netnod was Head of Netnod Time and Frequency where she oversaw the expansion of Netnod’s time services for public and commercial use. This included a huge increase in the takeup of Network Time Security; the launch of Time-as-a-Service solutions for the energy and finance sectors; and pushing forward the development of new time distribution methods such as Roughtime.

“I am very grateful to have worked with LM and for his dedication to developing Netnod as an organisation working for the good of the Internet and society as a whole,” said Karin Ahl, Interim CEO, Netnod. “We will continue to focus on working with our partners, customers and the technical community to ensure a robust and secure Internet for everyone.”

Prior to Netnod, Karin’s roles included: President of FTTH Council Europe, an industry association focused on advancing full fibre-based connectivity to the whole of Europe; Head of Sales and Marketing for the Technology and Infrastructure specialist Rala AB; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swedish Local Fibre Alliance.
